what can having mywebsearch adware on your pc do?

If I had mywebsearch.funwebproducts adware and I entered my SSN on my online bank account, will my SSN be stolen? What about my child who has applied to colleges and has entered his personal information, including his SSN? I just found out today about this adware; probably has been on pc for months.
